I have an active bid on ,zoom G5 which I think is great too have.but after watching a demo off the boss js 10,i really loved it.its a great practice tool,as it has a huge amount of professional backing tracks, from metal to blues ect..down side is the cost of it.over $400.i think its worth every penny.if i win the bid on Ebay, then ill have the zoom.current bid $177.99.if i loose,i may have to give AMS a call, and do a 3 easy payment plan.
For the BOSS JS 10. This unit is the bomb....what i like most about it,is u can plug ur Guitar in it and pick the back track u want.u can plug two guitars in it,or Guitar and bass vocals.and record all three, its the next best thing of being in a.band. Gotta have it. ...

I have the JS-8 but I absolutely love it. I bought it about 5 minutes before Boss came out with the JS-10 but have not regretted my purchase for one second. I've got a Fender Blues Jr. but it has been weeks since I have used it. I use the Boss 90% of the time.

It sounds silly, but for me the main thing I use it for is practicing with headphones early in the morning so I don't wake my wife.

But it is awesome. I move stuff I am working on to a thumbdrive and then move it to my Boss with that. You can plug it into your computer as it will be recognized as a drive but I've never had the need. I haven't dented the storage on my USB or the SD card in the Boss.

You're correct it comes with a lot of awesome backing tracks.

And you can slow down and loop and we haven't touched the surface of all this thing will do. We haven't talked about all the effects you can apply.

Great, great tool.

Hi Axe. I have the BOSS JS10. The solos I've posted were recorded with it. Its a great practice tool. The backing tracks it comes with are really good, plus you can find MP3 backing tracks online, load them to a USB thumb drive, and then just stick the thumb drive into the JS10 and play those too.

The downside of the JS10 is its expensive, and it doesn't sound that great through its speakers. It does sound really good through the headphones.

What I would suggest is that you do a "search all of Craigslist" for one (which is what I did) and you'll probably find one. I got mine for $200, and it was like new. Or you can just skip the hassle and go new. I use mine every day. Its one of the best investments in music gear I have ever made.

You'll probably be better served by the Boss init. I'm starting to become discontented with my Zoom pedal. I just can't get it to sound good in front of my amp. As a direct input into my PC, it does pretty well.

Now it's mainly being used for its looper and drum beats so I can practice and formulate frameworks for solos. It still useful, but nowhere near as useful as I hoped it would be.

Good luck axe!
