Huh, I'll have to check out my 2011 lp faded studio to see if it has a circuit board. I've already had to replace the pickup switch, but I haven't had to dig into the other compartment.

Interesting mod stripping the poly finish off the back of the neck.

Question: Has anybody done anything with the fingerboard on a faded Gibson? The fingerboard has a pretty rough finish. I can deal with it, but it would be nice if it was a bit smoother. My maple fingerboard on my strat feels like satin in comparison.

One suggestion I heard once was applying beeswax to the fingerboard. Any thoughts on doing this?
