This article really struck a chord with me (groan). I definitely fall into the category of beginners with a "deathgrip" on the guitar, thinking that the harder I squeeze down on the fretboard, the clearer the tone is gonna be.

I have printed out the paragraph entitled "Relax", highlighted it, and pasted it onto the top inside of my guitar case for encouragement.

Just messing around with lightening up my finger pressure on the fretboard after reading this article has proved to me that a lighter touch is more effective. No wonder my left hand aches so bad after my practice sessions!

Kudos for a well-written article that gave me some self-awareness of my playing style that I will now be able to make more efficient.
