Hey Lisa, I used the 'First Noel' lesson this holiday season. Ok, I did do a little alteration to better fit my wife's (wonderful) voice and changed the strumming pattern to fit me....but the tutorial was great to get me started.

We were going to do a song for a church Christmas concert but alas, family and scheduling got in the way...So we will perform it for family.

...I did sit in with the church band during a practice...been soooooo long since I played with others. Was kinda fun.

Side note, I learned that the more complex a pattern or chord choice is, the easier it is for me. Ask me to strum a simple G-D-C and I seems to fall apart...(gets out the metronome...)

Thanks Lisa! It was very useful in getting the ball rolling and I recommend it.

That sounds great - glad to know you're bringing out your guitar and making some Christmas music!
And that you found the chords that work best for you.
Have fun!

I just wanted to post a quick thank you for these Easy Xmas tunes! Me and my 6-year old daughter had a blast belting out Jingle Bells and other great Xmas tunes over the holidays. It was fantastic strumming and chord changing practice for me and I was able to teach my daughter how to count in 4/4 and 3/4 time and sing to it.

Now that the holidays are over I'll be sure to find some more easy songs to learn so we can continue our jam sessions!

Thanks again!

Hi Huff,

That's wonderful - thanks for letting me know!

You might try Acoustic Strumming Step-by-Step, Level 1 to keep the momentum going with easy songs that are not Christmas-related.

Keep us posted - and have fun!
