In my experience it all depends on the individual. There are a number of factors that would determine the length of time it takes to get through the beginner lessons.
How often you practice, how well do you comprehend the info presented, etc.
I wouldn't stress on how long it takes to do the lessons, just relax and enjoy the journey.

Oh and by no means am I an expert, unfortunately due to life getting in the way I don't practice much so I'm still a beginner myself
