Grew up in the shadows of the West Memphis/Arkansas bridge that lives over the Mississippi river right up the banks of Mud Island that leads you right to where w.c. Handy marched over to Beale street. Down the double nickel (interstate 55) was Elvis country and he came up and brought the Sun Records to life. I was about 10 years old back then and we'd go over to the Lucy Oprey on the weekends and hear some great music from local guys that planted the seed for everyone from Memphis to Nashville. I never knew I had the blues, I thought everyone did.
