I'm excited to have joined up here and looking forward to all the site has to offer.

I've been learning for 11 weeks and am still a rank beginner, but plan on sticking with it until I can play! I have one issue that I will ask about in the basics section.

Play on,

Sadie

Sadie, welcome to the site! How is the finger now? I've had that spike thing before... it seemed to go away as suddenly as it appeared. So, are you going to join in on the fingerpicking contest? Seems like it would be right up your alley! Check it out:

Well the finger is feeling a lot better today so hopefully it's completely healed and I'll be good to go. I have some barre chords to struggle with so I'm not keen on long breaks!

Thanks for the info on the contest. I'll check that out... Not sure I'll be up to a competition yet though!

Good to hear about the finger! Its really not meant to be a competition, more of just a motivation to try out the fingerpicking lessons, and have fun seeing how other people are making out... one of the really cool things about the fingerpicking course is that you can learn new chords and fingerpicking at the same time... so you sort of double your practice bang-for-your-buck... Lisa's lessons are great; they may sound a bit tricky at the start, but when you go through the lesson she breaks it down so clearly that its actually pretty easy. Hey, if you're the only one to sign up then the capo's yours regardless! Ha ha! Have a great Christmas!
