A few months back, I bought her a Taylor Baby and she has now started picking it up and practicing.

I've directed her here but she wants a personal touch before she gets in deep.

It's funny, she almost completely repeats the things I see here from folks just starting out. We've all been there too...

I hear her telling me that it's hard (...and it is) and that she will never have the coordination to play...and who did at the outset?

Yet, last night she was noodling on Joan Jett's 'I Love Rock n Roll' and working through the chords I taught her for the song. Not perfectly, but I started to hear them ring just a little stronger than before.

Practice and it just sorta happens, ya know.

Wonderful. :) I hope you two enjoy the process.

Hearing about her going through all those beginner stages is good stuff. We sure have all been there. :p

it's all about the mindset in the early days!! Give her lots of praise and encouragement so she keeps it up!
Also, it's great that she's actually playing along with a song already...that's a big boost for beginners confidence :)
Great stuff!
