2 of my amps are SS. One's just a beater (Peavey 258) with some effects built in that I keep in the workshop. My other is also a Peavey (Audition Plus). This one has no effects but the "SuperSat" overdrive and feeds back pretty bad past the 2:00 mark. It has channel switching and is a solid little beast, so I keep it as a back up amp.

I have hooked my mfx pedal to it, and can get some nice tone with effects, but I still prefer my Fender amp. There's just something about tubes and I don't need any effects to get good tone. Believe me, I was all "Whats the big deal with tubes? It seems like just more hassle", but now I am pretty sold on the tubers.

I think I will try this Traynor. It was an amp to envy back in it's day. Maybe it'll open my mind back up to SS. :) I wish I remembered the model off the top of my head.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
