I had decided that my next amp was going to be in the 60+ range but I was this little one for $45 on Craiglist and just couldn't help myself. I haven't heard the spyders or the Cube15 but this thing sounds good to me. My other reference has been a MicroCube and a 30W Peavey bass amp. This one has as strong of a low end as the bass amp but, of course, does equally well on the highs.

It has so many models, effects, EQs and pre+post gains I don't know how long it will take me to find all the different tone this thing is capable of. I am having fun with it so far.

I am no authority on amps, far from it. But if you are considering a practice amp to play around with, you should plug into a Vypyr and check it out.

Today I downloaded the owners manual and I like Peavey's sense of humor. It has a picture of the amps control panel followed by a description of what each item/knob does.

The input jack's explanation:
"If you are having trouble figuring out what this is then please put the amp back in the box and get some drumsticks.*"

-at the bottom of page-
"*No drummers were harmed in the making of this manual"

Funny :) Why do drummers always get the shaft!

BTW, I have only read good things about the Vypers. I don't have one, but I expect you have a nice amp there.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
