As for myself, I can pick out a lot of players in one note, but to me the most recognizeable tone comes from Roy Buchanon...the things that guy could do with just his hands and a tele....whoah
and there are so many good reconizeable tones....
Van Halen, SRV, Beck, Johnson, Atkins, Albert King, Wes Montgomery, etc etc...
I think it's probably easier to pick the worst tone I've heard, and it's pretty recognizable and distinctive too! lol I nominate C.C. DeVille!! Funny guy, but just awfull tone.....
