Well...I feel damned stupid in asking this...I have basic theory knowledge and I know my scales...I just kinda freeze up when it comes time to writing a "solo". I wanted to know if anyone knew any licks that I could use. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Check out http://truefire.com/index2.html This is the site where you can get lessons free the masters...lots of cool lick ideas in almost any genre you want. It's free to sign up but the lessons cost money. I think you get 10 bucks from for signing up. Lessons range from 25 cents to 25 bucks (which would come with an audio CD and PDF files). Most of the cheaper lessons come with the tablature and an audio file for listening to the instructor. Worth checking out.

You also may want to check out http://www.visionmusic.com/ free online lessons including Jam Central Station where you can practice improve to a generic blues, funk, country, jazz, etc. dummy track. Have fun.

yeah, i just go round the blues scale (usually @ E of the 12th fret) an go up an down an put trills, taps, hammers, bends in an suum thing (it has a name) where u take a note on a string an then get 4 frets highr and 1 string lowe an play both an then u bend the lower note up to the pitch of the higher.also, i ask ppl i see 2 play me a solo an thn i steal liks from them.that worx.

i would say that u have to know the scales good enough that
when u sing/whisles a melody in that scale, u have to know how to play it at the same time.. this way, u can find melodies u can use.. and maybe spice it up with some shredlicks.. listen to Michael Angelo's No Boundaries..
a good ex. on spiced up melodies.. = )
and.. learn some short sweep-patterns.. and some short alternate-runs.. this helps alot..
i would recomend 3-notes per string scales for the alternatepicking..
