Is there a program that would act like effect machine if your guitar is attached to your computer?

I think either Line6 or Digidesign has a plug in called "Amp Farm", something like a software version of the POD.

However, I could be horrible wrong about what that "Amp Farm" exactly is.

You will need a LOT of processing power to run a plug in like that though.

You'll need a pretty phat system all around....I know Digidesign requires at least a Pentium III 850 and 256 MB RAM. Harmony Central has a page devoted for music based guitar programs, might want to check them out too...
