What is a Talk BOx
I've seen a bunch of guitar players use the "talk box" during some guitar parts like Slash(rocket queen,Dust n Bone), Mick Mars (kick star my heart), Richie Sambora(livin on the prayer), Richie Kotzen etc.. but i really have no idea bout how that thing works, i mean how to use it. Can you explain that to me? Thanks!

A talk box works like this:
It's basicly a speaker encased in a box with a tube that runs from the speaker to your mouth. When you step on the switch it stops the signal from running into your amp's speakers, using your amp's poweramp to drive the speaker in the box. You play, it fires the sound up the tube and into your mouth. You use your mouth to shape the sound which is picked up by your microphone.
Be prepared to drool all over yourself.

Some effect boxes can come kind of close to the sound of something that might sound like a "kind of" talkbox...
there's a new "ya" effect that can be heard on alien love secrets by Steve VAI, and a "gonk" pedal, made by some factory, dunno which one... the ZOOM 3030 has a built in talk box, just plug your microphone, your guitar, and you almost sound like.....errrrrrrr...... some cheap effect that tries to be a talkbox...

i did a search and only found one made from the plans
for sale....
didnt find the plans tho...
maybe you could contact this dude and find out?

These devices sound cool, but are rather one dimentional if used on every song..Once per nite tops.. Unfortunately, they also can vibrate the fillings or other delicate dental work completely out of yer freakin' head.. But what the hell, rock-n-rollers don't need fancy dental work anyway..
