UPDATE:

Over on the Harmonix's forum boards, HMXSean, one of the community forum leaders, chimed in with an important announcement, stating that the article originally written by Daily Gaming is false.

Yep, when I was at UG earlier I saw they had an update on the story and that was it. The sad thing is, the story was very much believable.

Metallica's counsel, on the other hand, explained that the band is fearful that album sales will decline because consumers can easily get hold of their songs just by purchasing video game titles.

They could fix that just as easily by returning to making music like they did in the 1980s. This is my opinion but they sound terrible nowdays.

EDIT: Let me rephrase that; album sales are already low, they could fix that by making better music.

I don't think they will ever go back to the way they were. They have changed as a band over the years, and I think that they are going more towards the hard rock/metal genre than full metal.

I agree with that. Metallica was hella good in the 80's because they played music that was unique and heavy. They've conformed and that means that they are just another band. Thats why their record sales are sucking.
