Yup, I also live about 15 min from Irvine. I'm in Foothill Ranch (north of Lake Forest). I was thinking of applying for a job at the El Toro Guitar Center as a matter of fact. I don't know how much they want you to know about guitars and gear to work there though. I'm assuming a lot.
