I used to think that there was no real difference between distortion, overdrive and fuzz. But after playing and listening to music for a few years now, I've noticed that blues players/70's rockers seem to use overdrive rather that distortion.

I think I prefer the overdrive that is produced by playing your amp at 11 to a metal distortion. It just seems more pure and you can still hear the tone of the guitar.

Don't get me wrong, I love my BOSS MT-2, but I would recommend checking out other pedals first. If you have tons of cash to throw away, check out http://www.fulltone.com, they have a cool overdrive pedal.
