And the votes are in....... speeding charges were dropped and I plead guilty to careless driving. I had to pay $250 in fines and got 2 points on my license that are dropped in a year, or immeadiatly after I take a driving safety course (which I plan on.)

Thank God that all over and wasn't bad at all.

Why would ya take 'careless driving' over 'speeding'?
In Canada at least, careless driving is a far more serious offence than speeding and your insurance rates would skyrocket.

Not over here, mabey unless the speeding was only for like 7 or 8 over. But you pay a lot more (short and long run) for speeding than careless driving.

Like I said, I only had to pay 250 for the careless, vs a possible 600-700 for the high speeding. ANd then theres insurance which you pay through the nose if you hve nay speeding tickets, even if they aren't for that much over the limit.

You can usually get away with a coupla speeding tickets without it affecting your insurance.
Careless driving is only laid when you're grossly negligent, lilke driving like a complete maniac or causing an accident because you weren't paying attention.
