what? nevermind brought the rock back? are you insane? do you know anything about rock history? nirvana killed rock! Many great rock bands stoped making records because of that grunge sh*t because they wanted to wait till the grunge die and then they ended up braking up.
anyway, I don't have any top 5 chart I'm just happy listening to the best rock album ever, apettite for destruction, the other gnr records, u2, aerosmith, acdc...real rock bands.

ps: and by the way, I consider pearl jam a million times better than nirvana. ten is one of my favourites records

Larry Carlton-Last Nite (there's more killer licks here then you could learn in a lifetime)

Robben Ford-Handfull of blues ( Robben reinvents the way blues should be played, you don't have to be a blues lover to enjoy this one )

Jimmy Bruno-Sleight of Hand (the master of be-bop guitar, he's got more tricks up his sleeve then VanHalen)

Jimi Hendrix-Any studio album ( not only was he a master guitar player but the Sh*t he recorded on a 8 track recorder was amazing, the reason I picked up the guitar, Thank you Jimi !!)

Phish-Lawn Boy (Frank Zappa meets Jerry Garcia Meets Carlos Santana Meets Duane Allman etc....)

Van Halen- Fair Warning (it rocks, Eddie & Dave just work magic together)

Indigenous- my favorite new band, alot of history in his playin

Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon (this album couldn't be more perfect, it really flows, creative mastery)

Frank Zappa-You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol.1-5 (great live tracks, I kick myself for never going to see him live)

Steely Dan-Royal Scam (the perfect marriage of jazz-rock, intelligent lyrics & songwriting)

In the order they came to mind...

Metallica - Metallica;
Nirvana - Nevermind;
S.R.V. & Double Trouble - Texas Flood;
Joe Satriani - Surfing With An Alien;
Green Day - Nimrod;
Elton John - The Best of
Queen - Queen I, II and most of III
Nirvana - Unplugged
Megadeth - Countdown To Extinction
Eric Johnson - Venus Isle
Dire Straights - Sultans of Swing (Greatest Hits thing...)
Sky - Sky

There's so many others I can't think of right now, but these give you some idea...

These are more the albums that played a huge part in my live more than any great influence on the rest of the world...

Don't worry too much about me, ignore me long enough and I'll go away.

As they come to mind:

  • Morphine- almost any of theirs. The Night is on top rotation now, but that's because it reminds me of a very special girl who lives way too far away from me. Yes and Bootleg Detroit are also top candidates here.

  • Stone Temple Pilots- Tiny Music

  • Primus- Frizzle Fry or Antipop

  • Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals- Live from Mars

  • Clutch- The Elephant Riders (must have album here)

  • The Gin Blossoms- New Miserable Experience

  • Incubus- can't make up my mind on which album.

  • The Refreshments- Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy

  • Scissorfight- any of their albums

  • Tom Waits- Nighthawks at the Diner

This list will change in a few minutes.
