Just wondering what the massive difference is between original FL and the licensed ones you get on most guitars. I know some are poor immitations but the one on my BC Rich is really good and hasn't lost tuning yet.

Any ideas?

i think if a licensed one is pulled of correctly then it can pretty much match up to the original. the only difference between the two is one is manufactured directly by the Floyd company and another and the licensed one is manufactured by your guitar manufacturer who's been given the right to use the Floyd name to market the guitars features.

so aslong as they're machined right then they're gonna be just as good?

how much whammying are you doing?

My experience with BC-Rich is they tend to (and i'm not saying this is the case) skimp on the hardware sometimes, but if you're saying your whammy is keeping everything in tune then it's fine as it is imo.

Some people are whammy abusers and divebomb every 10 seconds and really put strain on their gear and i guess for them they might notice.

Call me weird but using the most default fender style whammy bar it takes me a while to whack my cheaper guitar out of tune. I don't even have one on my new guitar, wasn't any use for it where i'm heading.

hehe like i meant i'm not the soloing type, i'm more of a steady rythm guitarist with vocals. soloing just doesn't do it for me, i need rythm and order :) therefore the whammy bar isn't very useful for me heading down the rythm path.

yer i try playing heaps of metallica rythm though it's the most annoying rythm stuff to learn. total riff abuse, awesome to listen to ****ing annoying to play, but rewarding :P count the number of riffs in for whom the bell tolls, it's just hillarious there's like 6 different riffs in the first minute.

anyways, I didnt feel like reading all of this. sorry guys.

but definatly go with Original. just about any floyd can get liscensed... it doesnt mean much when you see "Liscensed floyd".

when you see original... now there you know its the best quality.
