i have a doubt in general, if you can get distor from an amp modeler, an amp and a stompbox, which is the main difference??

another one, amps such as the HD147 include effects and simulate other amps, what is the difference between these effects and the stompboxes or the rack units?? if PODxt have a lot of effects, why artists use another things to create those effects like sotmps or racks??

I guess artists are looking for their unique sound and just like to experiment with a multitude of thing rather than just sticking to an all-in one package. I'd personally go for a basic amp that had a good character but didn't have tonnes of processors and digital microchips in it, after all I can add all of that later through digital FX pedals. I think you might also find that professional quality racks that focus on a specialised range of effects sound better then digital all in one solutions however the new Line6 range is pretty damn good, you'd have to be quite picky to really care.

The reason I prefer individual pedals is that I can mix sounds from different brands of my choosing. I wouldn't want a bunch of effects all from one brand when I only like their chorus pedal.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.
