This is not a movie, but it is a well recorded video called "Stevie R Vaughan and Double Trouble" Live From Austin Texas. It is Ray Vaughan at his best! The 1989 show was a master at the top of his craft. I love the blues, but the blues belongs to the African Americans. S. R. Vaughan was the exception of that statment. I particepated in "The King of The Blues' contest at Guitar Center in Miami. I'm said to say that not one black guitarist graced the stage. Oh! I found that cd in a kmart for $6.oo . Right now I'm watching "Lighting in a Bottle", on cable. RTO

Some one already said Rock Star with Mark Whalberg... but I'm going to point out that Zakk Wylde played the lead guitarist of the Famous band... can't remember the name of it for the life of me... I just remember Zakk played the lead guitarist.

Yeah it was Steel Dragon and I already pointed out in post #3 that Zakk was in it. I guess my post was too small and insignificant to be noted.

The song they're playing when he messes up is a classical piece by Paganini... it's one of his caprices... can't remember which one... maybe the 5th???

Pretty good movie too...a violin maker puts all his love and effort into one particular last instrument, and every player who inherits it throughout history displays skill like they're possessed. I saw it years ago, and it might even be subtitled in parts (I don't remember), but it's an independent, like a Sundance movie or something.

Here's a video highlighting some of the playing in that movie. It's worth watching if just to see the ending solo!
