How would you rate the sounds from the Variax to the sounds from a good axe through a PODxt? I only ask because I don't really like the PODxt. I've got a few decent tones from it but find most of the sounds very synthetic. Variax certainly looks promising, just wondering if the sounds are on par with the POD or has the technology taken a jump up in quality?

In a blind A/B comparison, most guitarists and home recording enthusiasts can't tell an MP3 of the variax from the real thing regardless of the recording method.
