RollingStone Bad!!!

Did yall get really ticked when you read Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarist of all time?! I was furious! Couldnt think straight for a week! Where's Yngwie, Vai, Satriani? They had KURT KOBAIN and NEIL YOUNG , and JACK freakin WHITE as better guitarist than Van HALEN :mad: ! there are so much wrong w/ that list!!! Plus there are over 20 guitarist that should'nt have charted at all!! I agree with maybe the top 10 sorta, but not in that order!

carlos santana. playing the same repeticious boring riffs over and over again and paying adult contemporary artists to play on your albums does not constitute originality or skill.

don't care about his real career in the late 60s either. he should have been forgotten as just some guy freaking out on acid on stage. at least jerry garcia made a decent career of being some guy freaking out on acid on stage.

the magazine isn't even in my realm of existance most of the time so i don't really care about the idiotic best 1000 or whatever they did....

Even publications like GuitarWorld come up with bull**** "top guitarist" lists that make no sense whatsoever.

It's called marketing. Who really are the best guitarists doesn't matter (nor is it possible to make such a list). What matters is what makes the magazine sell. And what sells a magazine are famous, main stream artists. Simple as that.
