Although u are correct, in that it may seem that way....i beleive it does more to do with the fact that different guitars are suited to different styles that more or less showcase talents. For instances...now a days Les Puals are popular for todays music...that requires little talent... while strats have been a favourate with blues...and more guitar driven style.
