Please help, Best guitar for shredding?

Dear fellow guitarists, especially shredders, I need to buy a new guitar for shredding, can you suggest me a guitar that works best for shredding, and please recommend me the one with the fastest neck, any price and model, If possible refer me to some Jackson or Ibanez models with the slickest neck ,coz my other neck feels rough when I play fast Thanks.

well, how much you looking to spend? The Ibanez models with Wizard necks are all really quick. My favourite is the Rgt2020 which has a three piece neck-thru construction. It is only made in a natural oiled finish and plays and sounds absolutely amazing... but it is a prestige and rather expensive.
The only real way to answer your question tho is for you to get out there and try out every model that you might want...then make up your mind.

yea i like the ibanez neck thru guitars
heres something to think about for Ibanez if you want a neck thru there is the Ibanez RGT42DX it has a double locking tremolo
RGT42DXFX has fixed bridge mahogany body
But these only come in black. (Cheaper than prestige model)
Then there is the RGT42DXFM with flamed maple top with double locking trem.
and if you dont want a neck thru guitar most ibanez RGs are great but a really good one for the price is the RG321MH which is a mahogany body costs around 400$ Canadian, and has a fixed bridge
But it depends on how much money your willing to spend
This is coming from a big ibanez fan though so don't take my word for it your best bet would be to try these and any other guitar you can get your hands on. Don't forget about all the other brands
"We forgot to call Dylan" "Who the F*ck is Dylan?" "oh, I mean xDylanx" " oh yea we forgot to call him"

Don't go past the ESP standard series!!!
The M-II might suit you seeing it has an un-finished maple neck. You could probably get one for around $1500
But if you're into Ibanez, theres some good RG models

Ibanez S series are very good for shredding, super thin body, jumbo frets, super thin neck.A lot of todays heavier metal bands play on them.I have one and love it.Put some EMG's or Seymour Duncans in 'er and let it rip.

Dude nothing will beat a carvin with a tung oil finish on the back of the neck.
Check out their web site at carvin.com
I'd truly advise you to look, I was in exactly your situation, I looked for months, and this had been the best thing ever!
But if you don't want to order from carvin, the 800$- 1000 $ priced rg's are cool.

Get the ibanez SZ520QM. That damn thing is smmooooooth trust me. But it depends on your budget and you have to try your stuff first. But i'm now enjoying my ibanez. Hope i helped a bit.

Get a Jackson Phil Collen Signature. It's loaded with many useful electronics. But since you only have like 1,500 to dish out I would recommend an ESP. They're really nice guitars. Get something that's versatile and suits your needs(tremolo, pickups,2tone 2 volume...)

Yeah its true buddy, RG are very fast but I dont own one, I just tried it from my friends studio. From then on I admire RG. But since Im going to buy one, Im not sure if RG models are really the fastest neck. So I decided to get some opinion from you guys if you knew something better.
Anyway, thanks a lot to all of you guys for your posts, they truly help a lot. I hope others who are looking for the best neck will also benefit..Peace !

based on a budget i would recomment most of the s series ibanez's considering guitarcenter and musiciansfriend are not stocking them anymore they will be very low priced and have a very fluid feel and low a low action for easier play....i own a 1997 japanese wrmg black sparkle warrior , a nj series 04 speedloader ironbird and an old rg 7 string guitar with strings thru-body bridge, S series ibanez's are up there with carvin's performance on neck and action, have fun

Have you checked out the Alexi Laiho signature series at esp.
They're pretty quick but the price tag leaves something to be desired.
It has 24 jumbo frets and I think double lock trem but I don't know for sure.
You can get the AL-600 for I think $1499 and the real signtaure guitar for $4000
You should also check out the Jackson kv2 King v. 24 jumbo frets also and double trem I think although I don't use trem so I don't know for sure. You're looking at $2600 to $3000. These are both flying v guitars. I hope you dont mind. Hope this was helpful.

Have you ever been shopping for watches? You can get a really nice watch and then there will be another watch with the same features, but with more diamonds on it. same goes for guitars. so there is no "best shred guitar" (not to sound negative)

you can get a guitar for for shredding but there is only so much we can help you with because it all depends on the player. if you can handle thicker necks then it's better to buy them and if not you can get the thinner necks but if your are shredding it cant be to thin either because shredding is an art and if you f*** it up by using a neck too thin for you then you might as well quit. if you want a neck with jumbo fretts and really thin anyway then you may want to try a steinburg guitar. they are usually within your asking price. They are smooth and thin but they are all headless guitars so you may not want them but they are pretty good for shredding.
