I'm looking for a boost pedal for solos... currently using/borrowing a Boss GE-7 which works fine... but it's time to purchase one. Any suggestions?
These are what I'm looking at:
Carl Martin: Boost Kick
Carl Martin: Hydra Boost
Carl Martin: Drive'n Boost II
Pro Co: Rat 2
Boss: GE-7

If you guys use any of these, let me know how they are.
Thanks

I find my old Boss OD-1 works just fine as a boost for simply overdriving the amp. Note that's not the same as a distortion pedal.

Ibanez tube screamer will do it. I am currently in love with the Boss OD-20 which models stomp boxes however since getting my TSL100, it has been gathering dust !

I A/Bed the OD-20 next to my old tube screamer and it did a fine job !

Yeah, the TubeScreamer was pretty good as a simple boost. It didn't really SRV enough for me, though, so I returned it, since I have other pedals that will do a simple volume boost.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

thanks, I didn't put the tube screamer on there because I've tried it with my rig/setup and I didn't really like it. I think I will probably go with either the Boss GE-7 or the ProCo Rat 2.

Iy you are going to use a GE7 with other pedals be sure to try before you buy ! I used to have one and sold it as it just made a phenomenal amount of unwanted noise.

The GE-7 definately adds a lot of hiss to the sound, especially if the boost the mids like I do. I still like the pedal though......
