Musicians Friend has decided to test sponsor this site. They are sponsoring the style pages. You can see their ad here:

http://www.guitartricks.com/2000/style.php?input=folk

or on any style page.

They have a good store, I bought my favorite guitar there. They have good prices and service. This is only a test, if they get a good response they will support our site long term, which will give me the ability to take some time to add new features to the site.

If you are going to buy any strings or anything this month, please take the time to click through here to musiciansfriend.com from here, that way they will know where you come from.

Thanks,
Jon

Good for you, Jon. I surfed MF's site the other day; well designed, good prices, pretty good selection. Hope you get the sponsorship and keep up the great work on Guitar Tricks.

OK, I clicked the freakin' banner add... now what? Do I get a prize or something?

It also occures to me that their add is probably placed in a relatively low traffic area... am I wrong? Or do they figure that the people who will see it are more likely to actually have money and buy something?

Actually, the style pages are seen by about 3000 people per day, so it is a pretty high traffic area. They are thinking that people at this site are more likely to have money then people at a tab archive. Also, they don't care if you click the banners. They have software that can tell if you clicked the banner and then bought something, which is their deal, of course.

If you are buying stuff anyway, if you could help out the Guitar Tricks site in the process, please do....

What happened to the days when subterfuge was as simple as clicking the add? I'de buy stuff, however, I'm broke (and refuse to own credit cards). I am really itching for a Gorilla Snot T-Shirt if they still have them though... I ordered a cataloge anyway. That should count for something.
